Analog
recording is alive and well, and used on many of the top
projects produced today. These projects have one thing in
common; top quality equipment and engineers who know how to
use it!
At Paradoxx Sound, our analog equipment is second to none.
The analog recording process is in no way old-fashioned. New
state-of-the-art microphone preamplifiers, high quality
compressor limiters and 2" reel-to-reel tape machines
running at 30 IPS produce far better recordings than in
years past. In fact, some producers feel analog recording
sounds better than digital, that’s why we offer both at
Paradoxx Sound.
We capture on a Sony APR-25 2-inch tape recorder, then the
amazing Prism 24 bit 96K analog-to-digital converters import
your performance into the Soundtracs D4 digital console.
This method achieves that classic analog sound, but adds
digital flexibility for mixing and mastering.
At Paradoxx, we can record tracks to both
analog and digital recorders to provide the best of both
worlds.
